OVERVIEW:
We like Camps Bay Retreat. It is a lovely hotel in a great location. We think it is a good-value option for anyone visiting Cape Town.
ACCESS & LOCATION:
Camps Bay Retreat is a rather special boutique hotel just outside Cape Town. It Is conveniently located just a short walk from Camps Bay's many bars and restaurants as well as its wonderful sandy beach. It is approximately a 15 minute drive from Cape Town centre.
ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES AT CAMPS BAY RETREAT:
The main hotel is in the Earls Dyke Manor which was built in the 1920s. It is traditional and romantic, with lovely art throughout. It has a large lounge, a library and an elegant dining room. It is home to the Retreat Kitchen, a very good restaurant with an excellent executive chef.
The rooms are split between the manor and the more modern Deck House and Villa. Whereas the rooms in the manor are traditional in style, those in the Deck House and Villa are contemporary and modern. They are all smart and extremely comfortable. Most of them have fantastic views of the mountains or the ocean. There are also several suites that would be particularly suitable for small families.
**For families with children under the age of 6 years, we always request a ground floor room or a room without a balcony for safety reasons. If you stay here with us, please ensure this is what you are given.**
ACTIVITIES AT CAMPS BAY RETREAT:
The gardens are absolutely magical – thickets of trees, waterfalls, mountain streams and pools – a refuge where guests can completely relax. They include two swimming pools, a tennis court and a spa.
